when u rip ur dash apart, with out taking the speedo completely out, (cause the gear selector is a real PITA) stick ur paw back there and feel for an empty hole. if there is no empty hole, but a bulb in its place, use one finger, and try to turn it counter clockwise? maybe its the other way? anyways, once its 'free' their kinda spring loaded so theyll just like pop out just enuff that u can make it fall into your hand. what it is, is an LED in a lil capsule type deal. their easy to change... I had to change one of mine, once i got the dash apart, it took all of like, 3 minutes

There's NO NEED to go to the dealer for replacement bulbs. Auto Zone, Wal-Mart, or just about any other retails store with autmotive parts will have what you need.

As you can see from the list below, your instrument panel lighting is all 194 bulb type.

I hate to say it but you are WRONG. That is if its a Ranger cluster and you have not converted over to Explorer. I so thought they were 194 bulbs but they are not. The bulbs are only obtainable from the dealer when I got replacements for mine. Sit down for the price tag lol about 10 bucks a peice.

Here is the part number Evan.

not to put the nail in the coffin, but the 04 ranger doesnt have a glove box light... and, the lights in the the gauges, are leds, not bulbs

there are 5 bulbs in this picture:

in this pick, the speedo is turned. look at where the gear selector space is, just below the red needle is a bulb... notice its not a fat bulb like the 194 bulbs

rest of the pics can be seen here:

Dave they are not LEDs either, just a standard bulb that molded into the socket and is not serviceable like the older model year trucks. Look at the bulb really close if you have an old one and you can see that there is a standard filament in them.

take the bulbs out and try a X-mas tree light. It might work. I have done it on my PRND{D}21 in my BRinco 2. Floor shifter light was out and that was all i had.

Sorry for the old bump but want to get something clarified. The 04 Gauges (such as in my tremor) are not the standard 194 bulbs? Is that correct?

Sorry for the old bump. Thought keeping it in a pertaining thread was better than opening a new thread. Thanks for the 04blackedge. Saved me from almost ordering a bunch of LED 194 lights for my gauge cluster.
