heavy duty floor mats

I have an '01 ranger edge with the vinyl floor. I'm looking for a good rubber floor mat that doesn't slide around.

any suggestions.

just curious why you want mats for a truck with a vinyl floor? IMO there is no need for them

They will likely slide around on the vinyl floor.

My vinyl floor is starting to show some wear so I thought about contacting one of my construction friends and getting some commercial rubber roofing material.Cut it in one piece to fit the entire front with just a cut-out for the shifter.Maybe a dab of silicone sealant in the corners to keep it from moving , but still able to be pulled out.

I work for a coal company and my boots gets pretty muddy. After a week i had muddy water running to the rear and getting my tools and equipment wet.
That's why I want some good mats

Been there.Done that.Weatherguard is the way to go,especially if you have a manual transmission.I have a 2011 and tried several of the cheaper ones that hold water(mud) but my clutch kept rubbing them when pushed in.Then when you let the clutch out it lifted it(mat) back.I didn't have any problem with any of them sliding around though.I'm in the carwash and detail business now and customers forget or throw away perfectly good mats all the time so I've tried alot of the cheap ones. Now I've got factory Mercedes rubber mats.

But if you have an automatic any of the rubber mats from Walmart will work. They're usually oversized anyway to fit a lot of different cars so they'll fit tight enough not to slide around.

Weathertech mats are awesome... I wouldn't use anything else!

Wirelessly posted (Droid2)

If you've got a vinyl floor there should be an anchor to hook your floormat to on the drivers side. The floormats that came in my truck work perfect with the anchor. I'll probably just replace them with the same mat. They hold plenty of snow, mud and water.
