I won the gauge pod in the giveaway and now I need to get something to fill it. I'm going to get oil pressure for one and am thinking about a voltmeter for the other but I want to see what you guys think before I purchase it and why. Also what gauges will look the closest to my stock white face that light up green?

 

Auto meter pro comp lites. They are bright white and you can have the green back light. IMO its a nice match I have seen them before in some trucks and not a bad price. I like a trans temp for towing and oil pressure for a two gauge set up. Ford gauges might be an option.

 

Yeah i was looking at the Auto Meter Ultra Lite IIs but idk yet. I don't tow like at all so I don't think a tranny temp would be the best bet for me.

Well if you off road alot a trans temp is nice. IDK I just like'm I guess!

 

Tranny temp is good to know weither you off road, tow, or even normal driving......tranny temp is a way to know if something is going wrong inside the tranny

 

Ok so I think I'm gonna go with a oil pressure and tranny temp. Whats the difference between mechanical and electrical gauges? Which ones better?

 

get electrical, mechanical will have fluid come up to the actual gauge face while electrical uses a sensor and then just a wire to the gauge

 

Ok sounds good, what all is involved in the install of the gauges, I don't want to have to like drill a hole in my transmission to install the sensor or something crazy like that.
