5 Speed and Sport Trac console..

Hey guys, i know ive saw people cut out the expo consoles and use them with a 5spd, i was curious if i am able to do this on the sport trac on as well, wasnt sure because the front pocket is slightly different, also if it is able to be done, will the Redline shift boot work?

Thanks guys!

Anything is possible IF you want to do it. Take your time, measure the Console that you know works, then see if you can cut something like it in yours.

As far as the Red Line Boots, nice stuff but I think you will need a complete custom setup which I think they do, don’t know, call them after you get the opening cut the way it needs to be.

worse comes to worse you can swap that insert. Pretty sure they both interchange, trac from regular expo. It should work though.

Before you cut, that is if you haven't already, test fit whatever boot you will be using.
Measure the stroke of the shifter handle in each movement, 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to4 and side motion.
Start with finding the center of the shift movement, then center the boot and mark, cut small, fit the boot and see if the shifter works, then if necessary cut again.

Fit , cut, fit, cut, take your time and make it look good...
