A1 electric door locks

I have a question for anyone who has installled electric door locks. where and how did you attach the supplied clamp to the existing lock rod? it seems there is only that one little sqaure opening in the door that is about directly below the door pin and there is not enough room to get in there with the allen wrench and connect the clamp to the lock rod..... I've tried to follow the pictures from the ranger install on the A1 site but i'm not quite sure what they did. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did this a while ago, I'll take some pictures of it when I get home. My clamp might be different from yours though. Mine had 3 phillips screws, not an allen. And Loctite is your friend with that screw, unless you like taking the doors apart everytime it gets loose.

Heres a couple pics

I just pasted pics of the actuator and rod in their approximate locations within the door. I had to bend the end to line up with the bent stock rod to clamp them together.

This is at the bottom of the door where the actuator is mounted. The top screw has a nut used as a spacer between the actuator and the sheet metal. This angles the actuator arm away from the wire harness that is there.

And this is the view through the little square hole at the top of the first pic. This is where the rods are clamped together and you have access to tighten the clamp.

And dont forget the Loctite!
