Painted the Interior

So I finally got some time over Thanksgiving break to do some work on the truck. I color-matched the door bezels, radio bezel, and the cup holder, and got rid of my bug shield. I've got some Wet Okole covers coming in so I'll have some more pics then but this is where it stands right now. Begin picture *****-ing

And a few of the outside...

The next thing I want to do is powdercoat the grille black and get Buggman to make me some emblems. Any comments and suggestions are welcome!

Love the wheels, but I really don't like the color-matched interior. I like stock looking interiors, simple colors and not to busy and bright.

I kinda like the red/black accents on the interior.

What paint did you use? It looks nice & smooth.

I've been wanting to change the gray carpet on the lower part of the doors to black in my truck.

Let me know when you're ready for some ovals & the sizes/colors you need

Thanks guys. Buggman, I sanded them down with 400 and 600 grit sandpaper, then one coat of primer, 2 coats of paint, and 2 coats of clear. All of the paint was Rustoleum for plastics. I'll definitely be hitting you up soon about those emblems. Refund checks come in Friday so I'll have about plenty of truck money again

Hmmmm, never seen the Rustoleum for plastics around here.

I've had pretty good luck with good old Krylon Fusion, but I can only get it in a handful of colors. No primer needed, I spray about 4 to 6 coats with a light sanding of 800 grit between coats... sometimes I'll spray on a few coats of Krylon clear, but the fusion stays pretty shiny itself.

I'm guessing you have 5 3/4" & 4 1/2" wide ovals on your truck, I'll have to check my stock of 5 3/4" ovals to make sure I've got some good chrome bases (if you prefer chrome over painted). I've been looking for more of the 5 3/4" ovals that I can mod, but finding them in good shape is like finding Bigfoot.

I've used Fusion on a few other things and have been pretty pleased with it. I found the Rustoleum at Autozone. It was pretty much the only thing they carried there and they had quite a few colors.

I haven't measured my ovals, but I'm pretty sure you're right about the size. I'm thinking about the all black emblem with the red script and outline oval like the ones you had posted on your for sale thread. I think that would look good, especially after I get my grille powdercoated. I could do it at school if I can find an oven big enough to fit it in. I'll shoot you a PM when I have the money for some and see what all you have so we can set something up.

It's made by Street Scene. I got it here Speed Grilles by Street Scene at StylinTrucks.com Altogether, it was about 220.

By the way, anyone want to photoshop that grille glossy black for me? I really want to go ahead and do it, but it'd be nice to see a preview of what it would look like.

I can live with that. That seems to be the consensus outside of the guys like me that like painted interiors. I don't know if it's worth throwing up over though lol. I appreciate the feedback from all of you though whether good or bad. Anyone have some suggestions towards other things I can do? I've got big plans once I get out of college but I need things to do now!

I can honestly say the exterior is beautiful. I really enjoy looking at your exterior shot.
The interior...well...to each there own. Personally - I think it ruins the flow of the truck - but its all about personal hapiness! so disregard anyones opinions if YOU like it.

Thanks! I've been trying to keep the exterior up as good as I can. I'll hopefully be going to get some scratches and a couple dents taken out of it this week some time. As far as the interior goes, it's really a love or hate kinda thing. I've had guys asking for advice because they want to do their interior the same way and others that don't like it so much.

I'm trying to go for a black and red color scheme on the truck, and I think the interior paint will match alot better when it's all done. I got some black and red Wet Okole seat covers for Christmas, and I'll put some pics up when I can get a chance. That, along with the new sub box I designed (but not yet built), will really help everything come together more inside.

That is one clean truck...I love it. Only thing I can say is work on rotating that rear bumper up.

I see what you mean looking at the picture, but it's really not that bad. I don't know why it looks that way.

Want em? I just got some new Wet Okoles put on a couple of weeks ago. They should still be at my house unless my parents threw em out. I'm off at school right now, but I'll let you know for sure next time I go home which should be this weekend if everything goes according to plan. PM me if you're interested in buying them.
