Dumb question but what do you need to run your truck in the dunes? Is this
4x4 only?

 

Err.. After searching for the last meets pics, I don't think my little truck could go in there. I don't want to end up like this idiot.. It looks like a lot of fun to try! :)

 

Ya put me down. I will be camping forsure, Cold weather doesn't bother me one bit

 

I will be again there with my truck and dads lightning engine swap will be done, so he'll be there with the F150 too.

 

If you are seriously interested in going to the dunes and having a good time, do NOT let the fact that you are 2wd deter you! My truck is 2wd and I can get through everything in the dunes with relative ease, but my truck is a little different than yours. We have seen open differential regular cab rangers getting around there all day long. This is by far your best chance to go on the dunes with a 2wd truck because you will have plenty of other friends there to teach you the ropes and pull you out if you get stuck.

Commenting on the stuck taurus, last trip to the dunes there was a suzuki station wagon with about 2 inches of ground clearance, and an old lincoln town car that were blazing around the dunes for two days.

 

Cool! I will have to make plans to make it. Looks like a riot.

I had death wobble and alignment issues. i still made it home but I dont want to drive it that far and wheel.

Yep a bumper would be good. I'm gonna paint it the stock color though. So no chrome.

I put the tires on last night and found that the weights on the front hit my calipars. I left the rears on and adjusted the tune.

I think here in the next few days I'll have the tires put on my new rims.

My truck is not seeing the dunes! I might bring a quad or better yet if I can get my rhino by then. 2010 watch out for a R1 powered Rhino!
