davis,ca newb goin after some mud

hi my names randy and im 16
i just got this 2001 ford ranger xlt with the offroad package off of the lot with 82k miles
runs nice, but definitely more sluggish feeling than my thunderbird lol
basically, after getting stuck in a field with the tbird while muddin, it was decided that i finally had a decent enough excuse to upgrade a lil, to finally go get one of my dream trucks (plus my mom hated the tbird and the truck was for a damn good price too)
so i have this now
and the tbird is goin to be sold in a month or so

reading through these forums for about a week, ive decided i want to do (so far):
a new foglight lense or whole replacement
a pulley upgrade
the roush cold air intake (whenever i can find it in stock)
most likely borla exhaust
more aggresive 31" or 32" tires (for muddin of course)
component speakers and deck to match (maybe amp)
and later down the road, a 1 inch body lift
and also leveling coils for the front
some day down the road, rhino lining to the bed and all plastic

any suggestions of where to look for these things besides ebay (and besides the pulleys), would be great
heres some pics of my truck the first day back

welcome to the site, nice clean looking ranger.

As far as looking for leveling coils... go look at the front of your truck.... you have torsion bars.

All you need to do is get a 13mm and crank em up. you can safely go 1" and some (including myself) have gone 2+(wouldnt reccomend it).

As far as some of those parts you're looking for, you can check out ModBargains.com . If theres something you dont see that you want, feel free to email/IM/call and I'll be sure to help ya out.

ya, ive really been debating about the torsion bar crank...
idk, i think id feel more comfortable with buying the coils instead...
and i know id gladly pay for them too, vs lots of new front suspension parts to replace
but otherwise, thanks!

Theres no way you will get coils in there unless you go to a coilver/custom upper coilover mount. Torsion bars are just fine and cranking them an inch will level it out a little and stiffen up the ride some. I just un-lifted my truck and still left kit with about a 1" torsion bar crank. Cranking an inch wont cause you to need to replace any suspension parts.

Also, if you do go to coilovers, you will need to make sure you arent drooping too much and binding the cv's

will probably be around 4 ish. Dont be worried if the passenger side is longer than the driver... its normal.

Check initial measurements, crank an even # of turns, drive around the block to let it all settle, check measurements again and adjust.

kool
thanks
any last things i should worry about?
like alignment?
mines perfect right now, it'd suck to screw it up lol
and quick question on the pulleys (couldnt find my answer to this question, and yes i used the search button lol)
will i be ok if i drive a little with the pulleys installed without the correct torque specs on them?
only reason is, i dont have a torque wrench...but i could possibly use the one at my highschool auto shop..

Welcome to the site! 31's look good with a lil tbar crank, if your gonna do a 1" bl I'd go with 32's, you can fit those stock and they'll look great with the 1" lift.

check underdogperformance.com for lots of good stuff.

Howdy. Black headlights and corners are legal. Look at the ones on my truck. You will need to get an alignment after cranking the t-bars or you'll chew up a set of tires quick. I maxed out my t-bars and added aal's and chevy drop shackles and threw some 32's on there, all safe to do and pretty cheap(minus the tires). Welcome to the site.
