HID's in Hella 500's?
Just wondering if anyone has done this.
I pretty much only use my driving lights when I'm heading to my parents farm or when I do a bit of offroading
I know the bulbs can be replaced. But I'd like to have a LOT more light without buying super expensive driving lights
I'm also curious if the wiring would hold up ok with that
Any suggestions are appreciated.

The only difference with all the aftermarket HID kit bulbs are the bases for the bulb....howhat makes them compatible with the headlight housings. The bulbs themselves, the glass tube, are all the same. If you've got HID's, you'll notice how the glass part is about 2" or 2.5" long. KC Slims on the OUTSIDE of the housing is about 2.5".
I'm not speaking of like the KC or HELLA or Light Force or whatever real HID off road lights.

I know this is bit of an old thread, I currently have two daylighters on my truck, I am wondering if the 55HID will have the distance the 100watt halogen bulbs have.
cheap upgrade yes but is the beam still nice and tight like the halogens. id like to see a side by side photo of the two bulbs to see if aiming of the bulb itself is needed.

Also if anyone is still wondering;
HID bulbs in hella 500's are not too long but the base of the hella 500 does not really work with the HID bulbs. some clever modifying is needed.. NOT plug and play

I ordered some 100W halogen bulbs for them the other night, hopefully that makes a big enough difference
