Schwinn Spitfire Restore
Hello, So I know this isn't a truck but its a project It is my Dad's bike, he has had it since I was a little kid. Taking me for bike rides on it and what not. Its been all over the country for our vacations each summer and really used. But it is still a well oiled machine and rides great. I just got back from a 30 mile ride up and down the beach yesterday without a worry or care. Anyways I want to make this thing look brand new! Except I don't know how to go about doing it. Spray paint with a gloss coating? Do I sand the frame down? I'm not a bike enthusiast, but I should be able to buy a new chain and spoke wheels right? Also how do I go about getting the rust off of the metallic parts and shining them up/making them look brand new? So far the only new things to the bike has been new grips and tires... a few years ago lol
Ill keep this updated because I really want to do this for my dad.

If you want it to look nice, and last. Take eveything apart, and have everything sand blasted or soda blasted, have the frame and painted parts, powder coated, and take a pic of the logos, and have decals made up, or find a local artist who can replicate the logo's by hand painting, the wheels and chrome parts IDK what to tell ya..sand blast them and have them redipped. For no bigger than what they are and no more than what you have, it shouldn't be terribly expensive.
