Ryan, you asked for it. You want to be a shady *guy*, well I hope karma bites you in the *butt*.

The point of this feedback is the fact that you LIED, you were deceitful in your description of the wheels that I drove 3 *effing* hours to trade for. Not in a million years would I, nor anybody else, ever have driven that far, and considered trading you wheels in that deal had you been honest, and you know it. You lied about the description of the wheels numerous times, saying how they were "like new with a few clear coat scratches", and you even lied via text the day before we met up, saying that you'd just spent a few hours polishing them and that they looked flawless. I still have every text and PM saved. I even went ahead and saved copies of the pictures you went me in which the damage to the wheels was NOT visible.

Yeah, I shouldn't have traded you, but that's not the point, that was MY mistake. I'm terrible at biting my tongue when I get pissed off. I have bit my tongue for long enough. I'm extremely pissed that I drove 3 *effing* hours to Fort Wayne for wheels that were not in any condition even remotely close to what you have described. You didn't forget, or neglect to tell me the wheels had flaws, you 100% lied about it.

I hope somebody gives to you what you've got coming.

Members of Ranger-Forums: Please, be cautious IF you decide to do business with Ryan. He is shady, and he will lie. I know, i shouldn't have traded. I'll take the blame for that. I'll try to stick to the lying part.

Ryan told me that the wheels were in "like new condition with a few clearcoat scratches". I have the PM's which I will quote below, as proof. The pictures were also deceiving because they did not show any visible scratches.

Below is Ryan's response via PM, in which I requested him to "make things right". I preferred to just trade back, but he said he would pay whatever costs there might be to have a wheel shop repair the wheels

I waited for 3 weeks for him to come up with some money to prove he was serious about this. He then changed his story to how we could just meet up again. WHen I tried to plan a date to meet up, he began ignoring me.

 

Here are the DSG's, using macro mode. As you can tell, they are in PERFECT condition. As if hey JUST came out of the box...

In the last picture, shows the only flaw on the wheels







And here are the "like new" alcoas. And don't forget guys, as Ryan had told me, the only scratches are where the wheel weights are. The other scratches must be figments of my imagination.

 

Man I hate if for you. Got you with the ole' "dont pay attention to the date trick". And not taking them when you got there, kinda felt like you would have been letting your end of the deal go. I know how it feels, I've been in this situation a few times. Sorry it happned to you.

 

I know. I SO wish I hadnt taken them. I guess I was just in a hurry to get me some polished Alcoa's.

However, I'm TRYING to stay on topic about how he lied about their condition in the first place, and got me to drive to Ft Wayne for them, over 160 miles.

He's ignoring me now. I would be happy to get the DSG's back, although I'm curious if he's cleaned them with 80grit as well by now. I hope not. I wonder if the thread will help convince him to trade me back and maybe make up for the lie, or if he even cares.

 

I remember you telling me about this, I hope Ryan will read this and do the right thing and trade back or give you the money to fix the wheels you recieved from him. I hope everything turns out the way you expect it to.

I know. I stuck to the deal when i shouldnt have. I think maybe I was in denial/shock about the condition of the wheels at the time.

 

I can't really understand how you are able to complain about them. Sure you can complain hes a liar, but no one forced you to trade. You saw the wheels in person and still did it, you can't really blame anyone but yourself for that. I never understand how people do stuff like this, they travel and see first hand the condition something is in, take/buy/trade/whatever and then complain about it after the fact.

 

I see your point. I am TRYING to refrain from doing just that, I really am.

However, do you think its right to drive 3 hours one way for an item described as "A+" condition, only to discover its more of a "D" or D-" condition. It isnt like he mistakenly told me something, he deliberately lied. I guess I took a member's word for something, only to get taught a lesson. I asked Ryan to trade my back, hell, I texted him and told him I was unhappy only an hour into my drive back home.

 

Dang man that sucks. I am hoping you get your wheels back. I love those DSG Alcoas.

 

Sorry man. I have done the same thing though. You buy something then get home and regret it. Why dont you try spending $1700 on your mistake like I did.

 

Hell no, I dont think its right. I'm just not really too sure why you traded, idk maybe it was too much of a spur of the moment thing for you. Maybe you can figure out how to get them back to looking good, Alcoa wheels are quality stuff so I'm sure you can get them back looking good with a little bit of work.

 

Ok. See, I'm trying to find something we agree on Korey and we might be on to something here. I know, I traded him. I'm just focused on him lying in the first place. Hence why I posted. And my solution, in order for him to make it right, was to trade me back.

I'm experimenting on one wheel right now, trying to fix them. Sand, polish, reclearcoat. I will post my results. I might attempt to use some sort of thinner on them though, in order to strip the clear coat.

 

Fred, I'm with you on the guy stating "A+" or "like new" wheels... But I'm also with Korey, if you didn't like them after seeing them, turn around and take the hit in fuel it took to get there and go home knowing you didn't get ripped off. Ya know?

 

Hindsight is 20/20, that's all I can say Tre. Lol. Its 20/20. I really wish that I would have done that, I would have been in a much better, happier situation.

 

Yeah just learn from your mistakes I guess. Next time just say no and turn back around and leave.

 

I agree. Already talked it over with a few friends. It might **** a few people off every now and then, but I'm tired of being the nice, polite guy that bites his tongue when things aren't right.

I'm going to try to use this MEK stuff we have at work, to strip the CC off of them. Then see about polishing the aluminum and clear coating again.

 

Wow man id say those are in more of an F(ail) condition, instead of not trading him you shoulda fed him a few shots then he would have gotten what he diserved! Well i hope your expiriment works for ya and they come out shinny shinny, best of luck man!

 

Sorry about your luck Freddie... I really think the bigger issue is when Freddie approached him after the fact about "fixing" the problem he agreed then backed out... he could and should have said "tough luck, you already traded" but the fact he was semi-admiting fault by trying to make things right and then backing out of that is the issue at hand... I hope it works out in the end!

You're absolutely right about hindsight being 20/20. With that said, you should be able to polish out those Alcoa's to a like new condition. It will definitely take alot of time and hard work though. Since you did make the trade I guess all you can do is try to recoup your losses and polish up the wheels you received in trade. At this point, it is purely up to him if he decides to trade the DSG Alcoa's back. Hope it works out!
