Air Conditioner blows alternates between warm and cold air
Help me! So i'm supposed to be driving down to southern CA from Washington state here in a week and a half. Found out last night that my work truck(2004 F150) may be unavailable for me to take on this trip; no big deal to drive my ranger instead. Well then last night/ today... when I turn my A/C on in the ranger, it takes like 15-20 minutes of blowing warm/ hot air until it INSTANTLY blows ice cold. But then after 5 minutes, it goes back to blowing warm air.
Everyone I've talked to is saying bad compressor... or that i need to recharge the system. i dont think it's those, since at least part time, my truck seems to have no issues making cold air.
This is the first "scratch my head" problem i've ever had with any ranger. Anyone encounter this before?

Does it go hot like heater ? or just warm outside air ?
Mine sounds like same thing but the charge is good , the compressor works fine cause it will damn near freeze me out of the truck after it kicks on 20 minutes later , but mine stays on after that 95% of the time.
I'll look into it more when I get home monday see what I can come up with.

Yeah my compressor was pumping fine. And it was blowing warm air from outside, but then it'd freeze me. But it was the relay! The windshield washer pump has the exact same relay right next to the "ac clutch solenoid". So i switched the two and thats what it was. Try switching 46A and 46B in your battery distribution box and then try the a/c and windshield washer fluid...see what works. I picked up a new one at O'rielly for $15
