Ranger get ACNE removed (56K - Grab a drink)

So the Ranger has had some small rust areas on the rear bumper for a few years and I've been hiding them with "cover up" like a teenager would.

Well this year the surface rust came around from the backside, up, and over the edges.

It looked like @ss so enough was enough. Time for some surgery.

The patient was released and 3 days later was washed and waxed and a heavy detailing job was done inside and out.

I've slacked on washing it period.....LOL

Last year it was washed twice, this year has been twice already. I have a van that I use for work now, so the Ranger stays parked and gets used sometimes on the weekends. I know last winter was bad.........I washed it in July sometime, then washed it this spring in April.

Mind you it's only the rear bumper that was that bad. Every other piece of sheet metal on the truck is still o.k. Just don't look at the exhaust tip....that needs a good buff too. That surface rust is pitted, but it's just from last winter. It doesn't take much.

I looked at removing the bumper cover, but just left it there. I wasn't going for a crazy job, just mainly got rid of the rust that was formed on the bottom and sides of the bumper. The rear is rust free and under the cover too.

You can see the pitting in the metal on the edge and over by the hitch side. I ground all the rust out and off of the area then primed it up. I used rust primer and paint, so that should keep me covered for awhile. Just need to wash it more in the winter months.

Looks good, why black though and not factory colour? Looks kind of out of place.

Shane -- that piece is just held on with clips from the back get a pair of needle nose pliers and grip and rip you gotta start at one end and work your way over its easy..

IMO -- take the bumper off tho its easier to flip it upside down to grip them

My question is the same as the others why black and not blue? It looks good and you still did a great job but why the change
