Check Engine light came on today..tell me if you know the solution

Check Engline light came on reading code P0402 (EGR Flow Excessive). I have a 1996 Ford Ranger 2WD with 2.3L Automatic tranny. 123K miles on truck. let me know if you know the solution to my problem. thanks

Bad EGR valve or DPFE sensor.
