I need some help..About a week ago I drove the ranger home and shut it off..It was running great,the next morning I went to start it up and got nothing but a little click sound inside the drivers compartment...The truck has all the power to lights,interior,door key chime,headlights etc...but it wont turn over...I cleaned the battery posts and checked the starter positive terminal,the end fell off in my hand so I cleaned it back to clean wire and relpaced the end..Still nothing...I checked the starter relay switch and it seems to be bad,so I put one of the other 2 similar relays into its place but still got nothing....i also tried to jump the truck but it still did nothing...Is there another relay,fuse or anything else I can check between the fuse box and starter???Any help woulb be appreciated...Thanks Jeff

 

You cleaned/checked the positive side . Now go back and clean/check all the ground/negative side.

 

I also cleaned the negatives as well..Checked to make sure all was tight...I am going to take the starter out(in the morning) to get it tested as it is 11 years old...Will update tomorrow...Jeff

 

i know this might be a stupid question but did you check your fuel pump cutoff?

 

PULLED THE STARTER OFF AFTER I TRIED TO JOG IT WITH THE NEG/POS TERMINALS AND I THINK THE STARTER IS BAD OR LOCKED UP....THANKS FOR THE HELP..JEFF
