I've been reading through the forums about body lifts, thinking that was the route I wanted to go with my truck, and after reading about the bumpers looking out of place, I'm starting to suspect that the previous owner of my truck already had it lifted. How can I tell for sure?

The bumber could be off by taking it off and not alining it correctly when reinstalling it. To tell if your truck already has a bodylift there will be nylon blocks between the frame and body at the body mount spots.

 

I should have taken a picture of the rear bumper, too, but it also has that gap. Is it easy to tell about the blocks? I haven't seen any pictures yet of the BL with the blocks in place.

 

Body lifted truck would have a 3" or larger gap if they didn't raise the bumpers...a normal truck has about an inch gap.

 

I just went out to look and from what I can see, the body is flush against the mounts, so I guess it's just the bumper wasn't put back on correctly or something.
