SWAY BARS!!!
#27
finally got it on.....everything that could go wrong, did
i finally got it all painted, the truck up on the ramps and i crawl underneath only to realize i forgot my ratchet at the junkyard....
i go get a new ratchet....
crawl back underneath the truck and get everything on except for the link on the drivers side.....the gas tank is in the way
i manage to wedge my fingers and the nut between the frame to thread onto the bolt.....i drop the nut
so after about 3 hours, $25 , and a dozen mosquito bites later....ITS FINISHED!!!
i took it for a spin and noticed a huge improvement.....the truck doesn't seem to roll around corners anymore, now it feels like its riding on rails

The main point of a sway bar is to stop body roll, or lean, in corners. A vehicle with solid axles will lean just like a vehicle with independent suspension.

i put it on exactly how i took it off cause i marked everything
or that maybe its cause i threw it together to take the picture......i took all the plates off before i mounted it to make sure they were on correctly

OLD thread but I just somehow stumbled upon a rear sway bar from trying to replace rear end parts and saw that the dealer had a diagram...
Obviously I can't get an OEM bar as they are discontinued but I found an explorer rear bar on eBay. I don't mind getting new hardware, I just want the bar. I've seen pictures here the bar mounts to the back of the diff... then have seen on the other ranger forum that it mount in front of the rear diff?
Which is correct?
