Well, alrighty then! New to the forum and seeking knowledge...

I tried the search function on this forum but my search-fu may not be very good as I did not find what I was looking for.

It's been a long time and in a former life when I bent wrenches for Uncle Sugar's Air Force vehicles. Like 40 years ago. I know lots of things have changed.

Anyway, back in the day, it was common to find many parts and components were common across the several mfrs' fleet of vehicles and sometimes upgrades could be back applied to previous model years. Thus my question as related to my 2004 4x2 Ranger XLT, extended cab, 4.L, AT, (gold and facing south):
Will a later model wheel bearing hubs and disc brake rotor interchange with the 2004 disc brake rotor/hub assembly and still allow use of the 2004 calipers and 2004 spindles?

Thank you for your service.

In the past, parts were expensive to design and make, labor was cheap.
So it was common for the same part to be used on many vehicle models and for many years.

Now with computer design and computer controlled machines for manufacturing, parts are cheap and labor is expensive.

The 2WD Rangers used virtually the same front coil suspension from 1998 to 2012(3rd generation), but..............
Some 2WD models had Torsion bar instead of coils, I think Edge and Sport models did on and off over those years.
Not sure if that changed the spindle/hub size, it shouldn't but.............parts are cheap.
Also 4 wheel ABS would matter as well

Best bet would be to look on line and find the Ford part number for your year and model.
Then look up other years to see if they have the same number.
Or call a Ford dealer.

Not sure if I trust Ebay sellers 100% on the years a part fits, they could be right, lol.
