Bodylift question?

i found a decent looking ranger on craigslist today only 80k. it has a body lift and was in a wreck rear ended i beleive and fixed. the guy says the only thing wrong with it is the gears grind when in high rpms 2000+. he said it had to do with the lift? is this true?

If he didn't install a shift extension it might cause that. I know it makes more noise after the lift but it shouldn't be grinding.
