Has anyone driven Lippencott Road in Death Valley with their ranger? If so when?

If so how was it? Was your ranger stock?

Current plan is do this road over the thanksgiving holiday.

Note: Lippencott is one of those roads where they tell you not to go down it. But adventure sometimes calls for ignoring those signs.

Video of road. This person went west to east and apparently the easier route is east to west which is downhill.

 

I completed Lippencott over Thanksgiving. Only a few bangs on my false rock sliders called running boards.

The road is not as tough as rumors have stated. However, it is quite narrow in some area's with a few passing spots. The tough part is a middle section that requires you to pick your lines carefully. Also, the road is full of rocks with jagged edges but nothing to worry about if you avoid sliding your tires next to them. General common sense "Avoid or go over" don't slide up against them.

In front of us were two other cars (Jeep Renegade (had full under carriage protection) and a Chevy Colorado zr7.2 and both of them said that love taps were made on different rocks down the path.

Death Valley was a great place to off road and we were able to complete all the trails we attempted and will go back for more on another date. We were able to complete Mengel pass, Steel Pass, Lippencott road, Hunter pass, etc...
