Got 14's. What are my options?
So as the title leads to, I'm currently rocking my set of Uniroyal Liberators 225/70/R14 and they're getting pretty worn. I'm completely satisfied with my 14" Mazda rims and I wanna keep my gas mileage decent, but I'm looking to get something fill out the truck better and maybe raise it a couple inches or so (I was thinking 245's) So after some searching about 14's on this site and other tire sites, I pretty much can't find anything for a 14 inch rims that's bigger than the 225/70/R14's I have right now. I did read on one of the forum posts here about getting some "grabbers" but I have no idea what these are.
If absolutely necessary, I could look into getting some 15's from a Ranger or possibly another Mazda, but I just thought I would ask, do I essentially have any options with 14's? kthnx

newer ranger 4x4's come shod with 255's on 16's.. how tall are you wanting to go?
a 15 with a 31" tire would look better than a 245.. I bet some 15" or 16" stock ranger wheels could be found on craigslist for a reasonable price. I sold my 16"s for $100 to a buddy that wanted them for a set of winter tires.. on his Mazda.

Honda Civics with steelies to be more specific. lol. However they are usually covered by spinner hubcaps.
Get yourself some 15s. Use this site to help you find a good tire size that is near equal in overall diamater to what your 14s are so that it does not throw off your speedo too much.
Punch in your stock size on the calculator and play with different 15" sizes til you find you the same or slightly larger.

I actually went from 16" rims down to 15s on my truck. I went from a 255/70/16 to a 31x10.5x15 which actually works out to the same overall diamater.
Like the other said,go on craigslist or kijiji and look for some ranger, mazda or jeep rims. You need a 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

ok thanks for all the input and help everyone, I really appreciate it. Just to clarify, the reason I didn't want to go too big is mainly because I don't want to completely kill my 23-24 mpg average, and I figured 245's or so would be a nice compromise, but 245 was mainly a guess. I have no problem recalibrating my speedometer and whatnot, and I want to definitely have something with a decent sidewall (no low profile looking stuff).
I think I'm going to definitely try to find some 15's and get something that raises the overall diameter by 2-3 inches. Thanks again for the help all.

what brand are your wheels so if I go to look for some? That's just the setup I want. Steel is just the material, not the name, correct? American Racing or something else? Thanks.

Yea your right on just the term. Mine are us wheel series 97 chrome modular. The 94 looks like series 26 chrome blade. I got mine from summit racing. 15x8 was 55.95 each with free shipping. Steels are heavy, mine are at 22lbs each. Alloy would be better but for the cost steels will do.
