inexperienced lift kit advice

So, I have been browsing through all the posts about budget lifts, thinking about suspension or body lift, spindles, shackles, coils, shocks, blocks, spacers or hockey pucks. Do I save my $ and do it right? Am I patient enough to wait that long? Am I experienced enough to do it myself? No to all of the above. If anyone is thinking the same things to themselves, and the answer is truly no, then rethink question #1. Don't waste your time, and money and end up frustrated with nothing to show, something that will ruin your truck, or some DIY deathtrap.

I pretty much wasted two days and spent money I should have saved on a bunch of garbage that I either couldn't use or couldn't install. Total waste.

Save your money, and do it right. (or pay somebody else to do it right)

Its almost too embarrassing to mention the crap I actually spent money on. All I can say is it was lame enough to post in the hopes that some other person at my level (lack) of expertise even considering it would think twice. Most of the people here have very good input, advice, and even how to's. But I was totally impatient, and thought I could get away with some cheesy ghetto mods for the time being. Just a waste of time minus the learning experience. I still am not sure what route to take for the front end, but I do know I will be paying somebody who knows what the hell they are doing to do it right.

the term "You get what you pay for" applies here. On critical components like suspension, being cheap is NOT the way to go. don't risk the safety of others because you wanted to try and look cool.
