Pro Comp Mud Terrains

Anyone heard anything about these tires? I'm putting a 3 inch body lift in my 02, and was leaning towards a set of 33x12.5x15 pro comp mud terrains on black steel wheels. My truck is green would this look dum with black wheels?

black wheels will look good, Forget about Xterrains. I had 33x12.5x15 Xterrains, The sidewalls bubbled and they were garbage in everything but dry dirt.

OK...I was looking into these because in October at my Off-road store, theyre buy 3 get one free, so it's be like $600 for 4. But are there any other suggestions, my truck had 30x9.5x15 goodyear m/tr's on it, but those are hella expensive.

yeah they seem to always be on sale like that. i say Mickey Thompson MTZs. they are a little more expensive, but Mickey Thompson makes a great quality tire.

NO NO NO !

If you are talking about 4WheelParts, when they do their yearly buy 3 get one free on procomp tires, they up the price on each individual tire....so you only end up saving like $50 in the long run.

The time is coming up when BFG will be releasing the more common sizes of the BFG Mud Terrain M/T KM2's....i vote KM2's!

OK...do you know what I'm looking at for prices on the BFG's? I went to their website, but I didn't see any prices. I appreciate it.

They have a very nice road wear.
And they sound decent while driving.
*** for offroad they do just as good as any other mud terrain.

HOLY CRAP! I guess they are out! KM2's in popular 'normal' sizes. Its listed on BFG's website. Makes me kinda want to do a butt load of burnouts and make me get 35x12.50 km2's!

The KM1's, in 33x12.50 is approx 180 a tire. KM1's should be in the same ball park.

EDIT: 4wheelparts lists the 33x12.50r15 BFG M/T KM2 at $202.

http://www.4wheelparts.com/Tires/BFG...&t_pn=BFG16475

EDITEDIT2: Holy cow....33x12.50s are $202. 35x12.50s are $197. lol.

I bought 32" KM2's for 150 each when 4wheel parts had 15% off a few days ago. They are still on order.

Check out the Cooper STT Mud tire, They get great traction and last a long time for a MT.

I have ProComp A/Ts and I love em. granted they are NOT M/Ts and they are NOT xterrains. I've put around 10-15k on mine and they barely show any wear. I think it's a good tire for the buck, but if you are looking for a mud tire, you can definetely do better.

Ok...Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I'll look into the BFGs at my local truck store and 4wheelparts. Depending on price, I may still have to go with the Pro-comps, since I'm on a budget. I'm not constantly in the mud or anything, but I just love the way an m/t looks. But again, thanks for the help, and if there are any more suggestions that you have, I'll take them into consideration.

I have 32" Pro Comp MTs that I use basically for off-road. I have about 8,500 miles on them. I think they are a great tire. I've had them in the mud, rocks and desert and they have done well in all those conditions. I have climbed very steep inclines (smooth and rough) and run through short sections flat, deep sand with no problems.

I hit some very hard down pours through the Rocky Mountains on I-70 with some fairly deep water running across the interstate. They held great traction with no hydroplaning. Of course they were fairly new and still had deep thread. I could easily maintain 55-60 mph safely while most other vehicles were running 30-40 mph in the right lane.

With only 8,500 miles on them it is difficult to tell how many miles I will get out of them but they show almost no wear so far. They do make more noise than the BFG AT tires I had but are not that bad. I took a 5,000 mile round trip to Kansas and was concerned the noise would bother me going that far. I found the once up to 70-75 cruising speed the noise seems to settle down and I did not notice it at all.

I recommend them without hesitation. I am sure they are not good for everybody but very few things are.

Any news on the Dunlop Mud Rovers? Those are pretty cheap, and I know a guy who has them on his Dakota and he said they were the best bang for the buck? Agree or disagree?

I have Pro Comp Mud Terrains, and have no complaints, I've gone places out on the BLM in the snow last winter that I really shouldn't have and got back out. They worked fine in the occasional mud Utah gets (and when we get it, its nasty muck).

I also bought them when they were buy 3 get 1 free.

And maybe 4wheelparts marks up the price. But when they are on sale like that, its a Pro Comp Sale, not 4wheelparts. So any place that sells tires will offer that same deal.

i love pro-comp tires. run em on all our rigs (except the 66 f-lane). i have the regular MTs and they did just fine in everything i threw at them. i love em in the snow because of the siping. from an inch to 2 feet of snow they pulled me through some nasty times.

in the mud they are on par with any mud tire but remember they arent a swamper or bogger.

on the loose dirt they are pretty good and hold up pretty well to chunking.

no real rocks so i cant say.

street driving well...i wont say because they are on my 93 F150 and it likes to eat front tires.

I've got the Pro-Comp Muds in 35x12.50 and have no issues. Snow, Sand (dunes), Dirt, etc. They work great all season.

The only issue I've had with them is balancing, but what do you expect from a 35" tire on a 15" wheel?
