Tire Pressure Sensors

A recent thread on the site got me thinking about tire pressure sensors... I've got my new wheels here and will have new tires soon. I was just going to have them mounted and deal with the tire pressure light, or can I use the tire pressure sensors off my factory wheels and put them on my new ones if I just get new bands?

Anyone done it before?

I'm pretty sure you can reuse them

They're on bands wrapped around your wheels.. When I got new tires I had them taken off but their easy to swap to new rims. New bands or they can probably just crimp the old bands back on. I just had them taken off because the TPS that comes stock is useless. By the time it alerts me the tire is like 10+ lbs low.

Ya, I hate those dang things. My dad has a buick and it always has the warning going off for the tires. They all have the right amount of pressure in them to.

I know they're not all that accurate, I'd just rather have them working than have the light on all the time.

Ya I agree with ya. My OCD would kick in on a light on in the dash and would still bother me if I pulled the bulb

What if I put all four sensors on one band inside my spare tire?

It would work.. same with pulling the bulb or a piece of electrical tape over the bulb.. Either way it's just a way to keep the warning light off. Myself, I just deal with the light and when it starts to **** me off I'll pull the bulb.

OCD light? I'm glad I don't have that, it would be on all the time. I'm a bit obsessive compulsive as well. But I don't need my truck telling me that.

your probley talking about my thread you can reuse the sensor its self but not the stock bands the kit i posted up is reusable so if you ended up getting a different set of wheels later on down the road you can just swap them out basiclly all they are is a giant hose clamp shipping was free and fast shipped the day i ordered each kit has enough stuff to do 2 tires in it so it basiclly brakes down to 15 bucks a tire i hate the stupid TPMS but i know that dam light will bug the everloving SH** out of me

heres the link if you decide you want them
Universal Mustang TPMS Sensor Mounting Band and Bracket (Set of Two) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

like i said youll need to kits to do 4 tires

Yep, it was your thread... and thanks for the link!
They'd cost me probably double that though, being in Canada.

So I'm still thinking of just putting all my original sensors on one new band... but after doing some other searching I've also heard that the sensors won't read correctly unless the wheel is spinning?

I don't think they ship free to Canada, so I'll have shipping plus duty charges on top of that!

LOL tell me about it ive broken 3, 2 of those werent really my fault thought because they came loose and spun on the rim so i didnt know they were 90 degrees from the stem when they should have been 180. But in Canada they are more like $100-120
