Will the tires I want fit??
I drive a 2003 ford ranger 4x4 with a 3inch body lift and 285/75R16 all terrian tires on stock wheels. I was wondering if I could fit a 305 size tires on my wheels and without rubbing turning the tires lock to lock. Is it true that if you put too big of tires on a truck that you can burn up your transmission??

I called my local ford dealership and found out my stock rim size is 16 by 7in wide. I found some tires that I want they are 305/70/16 MT and on the specs page they said you need to have a rim size of 8-9.5 to mount the tires. I know this might seem like an old question but I want to know for sure that they will fit before I spend $850 bucks for tires. I will patch a link to the site. Thanks

I already got 285/75 on my truck and with my lift they look like 28in tall tires.
I was just wanting to go a little wider to take up some of the finder gap. I know that some 15/9in wheels would look great but the money situation comes into play. So my question now is what size can fit on a 16/7in stock wheel or what would you recommend?
