very dumb question

i was sitting here about to order another rim so i could get my tires mounted sometime this week.. and i totally forgot the backspacing of the rims i got.. i know its either 4 or 4.5.. i'm thinking 4.5

but my question is.. could i just run out and measure it somehow, without taking off the actual wheel (my back is acting up right now) or could one of you guys be able to tell by looking at a picture..

heres a quick picture

let me know

I cant tell by the pic, and I say that you would need to take off to measure... especiall if you are trying to verify a difference of .5" - the whole flat plate you need to measure from is resting on the drum or rotor so....

Could you measure from the front then math out the difference. And take a guess at the thickness of the center of the wheel. Should get you close.
