Rim size question

Ok...

I have a wierd question and am going against all the tire and rim sizes questions on the forum..

First off what is the smallest size rim i an fit on my 07 4x4?
Can i fit 14" stock rims?

I know the bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5" but whats the back spacing if i get aftermarket or off brand(jeep) rims?

I am looking for the most pavement stability I can get. Should l I stick with the stock 5 or 6 inch wide or go 8 to 10inches? I'm looking just to put these on and drive with no modification. I would go with low pro rubber bands(z rating) to get rid of tire roll over. And yes i know it will look funny...

Thanks

15" is the smallest that will fit (and it's pretty close at the caliper). The stock wheels are 7" wide with a 4.5" backspace.
If you want better handling without looking funny, why don't you go with a taller/wider wheel (17 - 18") and lower profile and wider tire. It will look a lot better. A 15" wheel with a low profile tire will look ridiculous unless you lower the suspension.

I hate my stock 14x7. What a terrible consideration, IMO. I'd go with the rim/tire recommendation by BrightRed...

Smaller diameter doesn't mean better. You can have less rotationg mass & unsprung weight by choosing a good combo...

Thank you

If I was lookign for a daily driver tire for this I would definatly go 17-18" but truth be I would only be putting these tires on for a couple track days. I'm going to get a rear sway bar (for daily driving) and use the low profile tires on 15" rims(because they are cheaper) and do a few auto cross runs along side my focus.

I was at the last event and watched a 500ci Caddy 6 person limo go around the course and thought that the Ranger should be able to compete against that. And it just seems like it would be fun with 4.10s and LSD...
