It works fine without the bracket just puts extra stress on the cable thats all. It may last but who knows for how long. I installed my bracket

usually the cable isnt long enough from where it comes out of the cab to the first bracket. that was my problem cable was super tight plus my ebrake wasnt working to begin with. some kits include an extension for the ebrake or you have to get it seperatly as is the case with my darn 92!

Never heard of nothing about the ebrake before I did mine.... but granted I think I had a problem with mine. Took it for a test drive after getting the BL on, then went to wash the wheels and the rear driver side steamed when the water hit the tire. I just got under the truck and yanked on the e-brake cable a bit. Stretched it out and haven't had a problem since.

i love mine too but modding the truck can be tricky, like i only one company that makes 4:56 gears cut reverse, and in my body lift kit it didnt come with lifted bumper brackets or e-brake extension, but hey what can you do, well as for the bumper im gonna build my own sometime in the near future
