Body Lift Info

Alright guys i just ordered my body lift for my Level 2 . Im just curious if theres anything I need to know before I do the install? any tips or tricks? Maybe something I should watch out for?

More than likely Im going to be doing the install by myself, is that possible?

I'm going to start on mine next weekend, and the only tips that I've gotten so far is make sure heat the cab bolts when removing them, and find a good friend who doesn't mind giving up a saturday afternoon to help. Other than that, just make sure that you get everything lined up good before you snug it down.

Wow, when I started reading this, I was thinking "haven't I read this before a few weeks ago?" Then it hit me, I did!!

This has been beaten like a dead horse my friend. It's been discussed and covered many many many times.

You'd find your answers quicker if you clicked the search button rather then waiting for us to reply to the thread.

There is some great tips and tricks that have been covered many times. use the search button and tyoe in "body lift". You'll be amazed at what follows.

Good luck and post your BL progress pics!!

i asked for tips when i did mine too, biggest tip i got was follow the instructions. although i didn't end up doing mine myself, if i had help i could have, the instructions are very good, do everything they say!

TurdFX4 03-31-2009 09:15 AM

ok, thanks guys

I read over the instructions online , and it seemed to me what takes up the most time is all the stuff you have to disconnect like ground straps etc.

Take a look at HozII's profile. Look at the threads he's created. There's a thread that I personally put the most info i've ever put in a thread regarding a bodylift. check it out.

Doing the lift is very easy. BUT, is very time consuming. ALOT of the drops and extentions they send you you really dont even need to use. Mostly it'sjust making sure things have slack while doing the lift, then when the blocks are in, most those things get connection again.

I'll search for that thread and post it up for ya.

No need to if you are paying attention. I messed up just before that thread was posted on my most recent BL.

Yeah its pretty easy. I did the bed all by myself in about 20 mins. Like they said it's easy just very teadious and test you concentration in what your doing!! Just take your time and pay attention.

TurdFX4 04-01-2009 10:57 AM

patience is something Ive been known to lack... at least thats what my gf says

Fx4wannabe01 04-01-2009 11:12 AM

Mine took about 7hrs by myself(mostly) and my truck already being takin' apart(no shroud already). lol.

TurdFX4 04-01-2009 12:39 PM

I heard the bed is only about 150 lbs, does that sound about right?

Fx4wannabe01 04-01-2009 12:42 PM

eh? pick up a corner, put your arm in there, put the block in, done. lol.

Yeah its pretty light, my brother and I (he's only 15) lifted it totally off so I could spray bomb the frame rails.
