2000 ranger
2000 ranger
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger. When I start it up runs fine. If I give it gas it tends to blow the fuel line off the fuel filter. Fuel filter brand new. It has done this five six times. Does anyone know what would cause this.
Welcome to the forum
Assume 2.5l Lima engine from forum header
2000 Ranger will use 60-70psi fuel pressure so needs secure fuel line fittings, no hose clamps, they won't hold
1998 to 2012 Rangers used this fuel pressure
Fuel filter is in the frame rail under the drivers seat area.
In 2000 it can have 3 hoses attached
IN from pump
OUT to engine
OUT to gas tank, this is the Return line, fuel pump is on when engine is on so if idling extra pressure/fuel is sent back to the gas tank
If you just have a 2 hose filter then computer will cycle fuel pump on and off while engine is running to prevent over pressure at the engine.
Which fuel line is coming off?
