94 Ford ranger hesitation question
94 Ford ranger hesitation question
I was having trouble with my ranger hesitating and shaking as I drove and at idle. Engine light on. Had a local mechanic look at it and said it needed new plugs and wires. Changed them out and had some relief. It hesitates now only when first starting it up and shutting it down. It's only a few seconds but the battery gauge drops then it recovers and everything is normal. Does the same thing when I put it in park to turn it off. Engine light still on.
Have changed coil packs, wires, plugs ,battery and had oil change. What now? Any help is appreciated

Welcome to the forum
Clean the IAC Valve, reads like RPMs are dropping to low, "It's only a few seconds but the battery gauge drops then it recovers and everything is normal" <<< this means RPMs are dropping too low
IAC(idle air control) valve is what the computer uses to keep idle above 750rpms, if it sticks a bit then RPMs drop until computer can open it more
