I'm looking for an ECU list for 98-01 2.5, 4 cyl Rangers. Specifically looking for the 5 speed ECU and wiring diagrams, and google has not been my friend.

Welcome to the forum

Ford never released any Engine Computer(ECU, Ford calls it a PCM) cross references, or any info in general about the PCMs, firmware or software details
If a vehicle needed a new PCM the dealer would send Ford the VIN and Ford would send them a pre-programmed replacement PCM, so the dealers didn't even have that info

Wiring diagrams are available
Almost all Public Libraries now have an On-Line data base
You need a Library card and you need to set up a PIN at the library, and get their log-in details
Then look for Auto Repair
Its amazing on how much stuff is available on-line for all models of vehicles, and free, well free with a library card, lol
