heater hose question

Just wondering if anyone knows why one of the hoses T's on the pass side of the engine. It T's off and has a small line that goes around the back of the engine to the driver side but I'm not sure what it runs to. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Trevor

It's not a valve, it's a T in the line, but I'm not sure what the smaller line goes to. It goes around the back of the engine to the driver side but I lose it when it reaches the driver side.
