little help here

Well i was in the process of checking my oil and getting ready to add another quart to my truck. I went to remore the oil cap and the top of the cap broke off and left the base of the cap still in the hole. I tried to turn the existing part with a pair of needle nose, but no good. Can anybody help me? Oh its a 2.3L if that makes a difference. Thanks

You need a pair of vice grips. If you don't have em or can't get them to work, use a punch/screwdriver etc and a hammer to hit the outside part, against where it broke off, and get it to turn. Remember to make sure you're hitting it so it turns out (counterclockwise) and try to keep any plastic bits from falling in your engine.
