Missing? Running lean? Black smoke.

Ok guys. This is my first time posting in a forum. I'm not much of a mechanic but I do alot of my own stuff. I'm no good at diagnosing. This will be a long post so please bear with me.
Recently I bought a 94 ranger that needed a motor. I went a bought a used one from a guy I know and it was running like a top before he took it out of his rig. I done the swap and drove it home about 40 miles. Done great. No problems at all. I then decided to drive it to work and had a blow out, so I had to trailer it home (didn't have a spare). I get it home, put new tires on it and drove it down the road and back. It was now when it started acting up. It would act like it wasn't getting enough fuel. But I gave it gas and it would do ok. Just barely got back to the house and it started in again. But this time it didn't matter if I gave it gas or let it idle. It was running like crap. Missing, fuel,.... I don't know. Like I said no good at diagnosing. I then decided to run the codes and this is what it gave me.
113- iat sensor is/ was high or open
118- ect sensor is/was high or short to power
123- throttle position is/was short to power
157- maf signal is/was low or grounded
158-maf is / was high or short to power
172- oxygen sensor not switching-system is/was lean single right or rear ho2s fuel control
211- ignition pip signal was erratic or missing
332- egr did not open or respond during test or if memory code did not open immediately __ evr or pfe
337- egr feedback signal is or was high - EVR

If anybody could give me some genuine advice or help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the forum

It reads like you have the wrong computer for the engine, or computer connector/wiring is loose

So you have a 1994 with a 2.3l SOHC 4cyl engine, also called Lima or Pinto engine

The only engine that can be used as a replacement is a 1989 to 1994 2.3l SOHC engine, 1995 and up can't be used, period, 1988 and earlier are a maybe

Lean code means computer is dumping more gasoline in the engine, so yes if its a false lean you would blow smoke from being too Rich

The computer is not really used much until engine warms up, while its cold computer uses factory tables

All of these use a common 5volt wire from the computer
113- iat sensor is/ was high or open
118- ect sensor is/was high or short to power
123- throttle position is/was short to power
157- maf signal is/was low or grounded
158-maf is / was high or short to power

So all would be effected if it was disconnected or shorted

No, there is no reason to swap in new computer if it was working before, thats just what it reads like the problem is

What year engine did you swap in?

Shouldn't be any issues then, will have less torque but higher top speed, they used different Cams

Check the wiring, make sure nothing got pinched between bell housing and engine.
And ALL GROUND wires got hooked back up
Computer uses grounds for sensor feedback, so shorted wires can't start fires, which is good but hard to track down wiring issues, lol

Computer should be on drivers side of engine bay by firewall behind inner fender, give the wires a good look could have pulled one or two out of the connector
