My new 1990 93k ranger issue?
My new 1990 93k ranger issue?
Hello new here, i just brought a mint ranger 93k on the odo,
This truck however has not left the driveway in years and was used by its second owner to drive a few feet to his semi truck due to by the look of his yard it has a flat stance with a low vegitation precentile.
(Washington rain state)
Ive driven almost 100 miles since ive had it and noticed a small hair of belt slipping on crispy mornings if i dont do my normal 5 minute warm up as well...
Ive also notice some times there is a stall issue that happend like twice starts right up fine though...
Another thing i found problematic is that feels like it lacks power going up hills like overdrive is not overdrive.
Its consistant. Even with pedal to floor on interstate uphill traffic is 55 normal?
Fuel filter replacement and tune up sound about right?

You will get leaks as well, low milers don't like being turned into Daily Drivers, seals and gaskets are dried out from sitting, so they will start to leak
Yes to new fuel filter and spark plugs
Also Clean IAC Valve and MAF sensor, possible reasons for stalling
Google: Ranger throttle cable mod
Simple fix to get Full Throttle back if cable has stretched.
Wider gaps on spark plugs cause lack of power at higher RPMs, so if spark plugs are worm out then that could be the problem
It should Down Shift to 3rd gear going up a hill, Over Drive(4th) is only for flat ground or downhill, OD has 0 torque, 0.75:1 ratio, 1:1 ratio(3rd) has "some" torque but not alot
You have an A4LD automatic in a 1990 Ranger

Sorry down shift is what i meant
Also look on the drivers door label to see what ratio rear axle you have
See here: https://www.therangerstation.com/how...ag-door-codes/
3.73 was standard
Many 4cyl Rangers were ordered with lower ratios for better MPG on the highway, flat highways, these had less torque

Tell me why the smoker mexicans sorrounded me. All though im temporarily one armed surrounded my truck. Attemped to kick my bed and failed dent my bed.
Jumped in lock the door then they attemped to open the door failed, and skirted out perfectly haha
Tell you what as long as ive been driving motorized bikes year round they did not expect for my truck not to have power.
A bit crazy but if youve been years without doors you know someone will dart you quick.
