Need new motor?

anyone hace any ideas i have a 2.3
what should i do keep the 2.3 or go bigger?

Put NOS stickers on the back window, adds 15hp i hear......No in all honesty if you dont like the 2.3 ya should of got the 4.0 cause it looks like you lifted it and put bigger tires on, they are not really supposed to do that.

clay just curious but why are 2.3 not meant to be lifted and have bigger tires put on them...

Well im glad your so curious, im sure ford didnt design this truck with lifting and bigger tires in mind, they wanted a pickup that got very good gas mileage and decent power. Thats why we usually regear if we get bigger tires.

well i dont really have thhat big of a lift its just a 3 inch suspension lift with 31'sx10.50 and i get like what anywhere from 18 to 25 depending if im on the highway and if i drive like a dick

With a mild lift like that you'll be fine. Theres guys running 35s with 4 cylinders just fine.

True, i hardly notice my 30s but 35s on the highway are no fun well atleast in the Texas Hill Country.

If the engine is shot, I say stick with the 2.3, build it with some better internals, then boost it. Otherwise a 4.0 or 5.0.
