ranger 2001 understanding vacuum line routing diagram
Hi, I'm new on most of this (not mechanic) and looking at a vacuum line problem with the a/c outside-air blend door. Been looking at all the threads here on it, very useful! Turns out I misunderstood the vacuum line drawing on the front radiator support - that it's just for emission stuff, no cabin air stuff. I attached a picture of it here so that maybe it will be useful for someone in the future. This is for 2001 Ranger XLT 2.5L 4-cyc, standard transmission, with A/C. (In great condition too, bought it new, and no one's taking my manual trans from me!) Can someone fill in a couple of things for me in that drawing. Mainly, what is that CCD at the far left of the drawing. I'm guessing that stands for something like "climate control destination"? Is that the tap that probably goes on to hitting the vacuum reservoir ball and then into the cabin to do it's vent controls? That would seem to follow when I look at the lines under the hood and follow all the other posts here. Or is CCD something else. And in that drawing, the thick black lines are the vacuum lines, what are the dotted lines? And what's the evap service port for (very novice question there).
Other terms I've found in the other posts here: (just to summarize here)
VMV - vacuum modulation valve
CAN - charcoal canister back behind the gas tank (does what?) (I originally thought this was the blend door actuator for the "vent"! Dummy!)
MAN VAC - manifold vacuum
And just to complete the vacuum picture in one place, I attached the inside cabin vacuum routing, taken from other posts here. It looks consistent with my Ranger (except possibly for the check valve at the top. I suspect it's inside the vaccum reservoir in my truck. Can't find it anywhere.)
