Engine swap would be the only way
2.3l Lima engine is a non-interference engine so at no time do valves and pistons share the same space in the cylinder, so broken timing belt won't damage valves or pistons, so really no down side to a belt
With Over Head Cams the timing belt or chain must be long so tensioner is required, tensioner usually needs to be serviced at 100k miles so difference in belt or chain from a service point of view isn't any different.
Belts are much quieter than chains, thats the main reason they are used
IMO, Chains should be used on all interference engines because they are less likely to break, just come out of time and rattle when tensioner starts to go out
But that is not always the case, quite a few interference engines run timing belts instead of chains
The 2.3l DOHC Duratec is an interference engine and runs a long timing chain, it seems to last but does needs servicing
