sucked up water....

well i decided to go off roading last night, i was having a ****ty night and wanted to get my mind off what was going on.

i went to the spot i goto most of the time, it had alot more water then before..

so i pull into a deep rut and almost get stuck, fun.
then i hit a few more ruts and deep holes..

then theres a hugeee mud pit that i didn't see, and bam, i fly into it.
the truck stalls and i see steam coming from under the hood, at this point i knew i sucked up water or something bad...

i try to start the truck back up and it starts, but steam is pouring out of the exhaust and its running like ****.

i let it sit and idle for a min and pull out of the hole.

i know i shouldn't have been driving it but i had no choice, so i limped it home.
it was running fine, but the idle was kinda shaky.

im soo glad i put the "intake muffler" back on my truck, now i know what its for, it was full of water, so im going to assume thats what its for.

when i got home to my apt i took the intake off.
as soon as it was off i turned it to sit it on the ground and water goes pouring
allover.

im going to buy a stock intake on friday, no more k&n open filter.....

i hope my truck is ok, i know the 2.3L is a tank, we will see......

Did it run smooth after you cleaned the water out? If not I'd pull the plugs and look for damage.

im not sure, the intake is sitting here drying.
i could go put the intake back on without the filter to check.
the filter is soaked, so im kinda sol.

ok i put the maf and intake tube back on, it still has the crappy idle.

the CEL did come on, code 302 (cyl 2 misfire).

i hope the coil is wet or something...

it seems to run fine, other then the idle..

Doesn't sound like you really killed anything. Remember useing seafoam does the exact same thing except with a little less volume and no dirt. I'd say this is a combination of dirty idle components and maybe a dirty plug?

I dont think the water will have any long lasting effects on the engine. I got hydro locked once before and I just kept driving it until it eventually cleared up. Actually ran a little better after the fact.

ok well i cleaned the MAF and checked the compression in cyl2 i only got 90psi..
the plug seemed fine, it had a normal grayish white color on the end.
this is all the testing i have had time todo.

i cleared the cel for the cyl2 misfire and it came back a few days later.
the truck runs, but it shakes really bad at idle, my dad said i probably bent a connecting rod or something.

whats the normal psi for the 2.3 lima?
