A total waste of time. You can't possible get a gain except a very low RPM's, and in all other cases it will HURT performance.

This scam comes up again and again. It simply won't work. I don't know if it was here or on the old GenEdge I calculated the power required to get a boost in pressure for a given rate of air flow and it was something like 300+ amps to drive the necessary electric motor. Take a good look at that motor, and I think you'll see it's not that big.

The standard things: exhaust, headers, intake, rockers, cam, chip or programmer, in no particular order.

 

rockers what are those ive never heard of that.

 

the little beak shaped things that go over your rollers ( internals) if you don't know what it is I don't recommend fussing with them.

 

If you don't have overhead cams, then your valves are actuated by pushrods that ride on your cam and come up through the head. They go up and down with the shape of the cam lobe they ride on.

The push on little "beak shaped things" (lol) as noted above, that are like "see-saws". They rock and turn upward motion of the pushrod into downward motion of the valve so your cylinders can breath in and out.

Rockers can be designed to change how far your valves open, allowing freer breathing -- within limits. For some engines, changing rockers can be a chore because there may not be any available that are a size match, or there may not be enough room beneath the valve cover for them.

I wonder if you could take the electric motor out, and some how attach a pully to it and run it off the engine using a seperate belt. I don't know if the internals of that thing is efficient enough to make enough boost to be worth anything though.

 

I think not. I pointed out the power budget as an easy way to indicate why it won't work -- but I also believe a squirrel cage blower is NOT the answer, lol -- how many squirrel cage superchargers have you seen? Closest thing to that is an impeller type turbo.

 

It all works. That ebay thing wont. Ohh... and It's not a supercharger.

 

+1 the biggest problem with it is that it's gonna be spinning at a constant rpm, it wont scale with the engine revs. It's sad that people will actually buy that.

 

Jesse, one thing to look for when checking eBay is the seller's feedback. There you can find out a bit about how the seller does business, and also how good the product actually is. In this particular seller's feedback, you can see that quite a few people have been unhappy with the product, and some have even said that it does not work whatsoever as N3elz described.

I do that every single time I bid John! I dont like the idea of being ripped off more than anyone! I actually just bought a auto meter fuel press gauge for 100 less than the list price (e.g. summit, jegs) Sweet! The dude had 100% positive feed back too!

 

Cool, it is a good thing you do, otherwise you could have bought yourself a really crappy part.
