Exhaust

Noticed alot of you guys have exhaust (mainly flowmasters) setup on yalls 3.0L's and most of them sound better than I thought, pretty badass I think. I dont have ANY mods or anything done to my engine, what exhaust setup would give me the best sound..A good purr or drone and manly sounding...

It seems everyone is split between Flowmasters and Magnaflows, its honestly based on what you think sounds better.

Yeah, still up in the air. Watched alot of videos on YouTube and cant really tell which sounds the best.. I want it as loud as it can get and still sound good, not like a pissed off bumble bee... Guy at mufflershop happened to coach me in baseball back in the day, so he said he'd install a few different setups and let me pick which one I thought sounded the best... Still not sure whether to do just a one-pipe out of the back, dual pipes, not sure..Guess we'll see.. Any suggestions (I know its more personal preference but still like to hear :) )

Just go with duals, it will give you better flow

If you are talking about a muffler with a single inlet and dual outlets, that's fine, but if you are planing on running dual pipes from the manifolds back, plan to run the pipes pretty small (1 3/4" or 2", no bigger). Exhaust scavenging is not limited to just headers, despite what we are led to believe, the factory DOES take the time to properly design their exhaust system. When you stick pipe way too large right on the manifold, you lose exhaust scavenging and in turn, lose all low end power until the engine can generate enough exhaust gas to fill that large diameter pipe to produce some kind of scavenging wave.

I'd go with a single in/single out Magnaflow.

I like my Gibson. Its very loud. And sounds very good. But ya gotta ditch the stock cats and toss in a single high flow cat to really get any kind of volume out of the 3.0.

My set up, a little late.. but you know...

Not sure how to post the video on my reply, but here's the YouTube links. I went with a Flowmaster Delta 50 Series, single in and dual out (infront of the rear right tire), with 3" tips. Sounds pretty good I think, definately better than I thought.. Videos were the best I could do on my street, lol - Sorry about the wind on the 2nd one
