1989 Ford Ranger 2.9 Fresh engine rebuild wont start
Hi, i have recently rebuild my ford cologne 2.9 engine (it ran before completely fine, just the cylidner heads were cracked). After installing the rebuild engine it will crank and stutter, but wont start. There is a spark and it will run if i spray engien starter into it, but will die off again when i stop spraying. Fuel pump is working, there is fuel coming to the engine at preassure, it will spray out if i press on the small fuel vent.
edit: could this be caused by bad/dirty fuel injectors?

The timing is right, as i said, the engine works when i spray engine starter or brake cleaner into it, the plugs are kinda dry. I tried today and changed up a couple things, tried to blow hot ar into the intake and it ran really badly for like 5-7 sec and died, the first second or so when starting the engine it starts normaly, but then it just dies.
I'd guess it's not gettn any gas. not sure how to check to see if the injectors are working or what the fuel pressure should be, running and when stopped.. I think it needs to hold pressure before even starting. I have a 2001 so things are somewhat different. do you know how to check the codes?
well maybe ck pressure when the motor is turning over trying to start? its either not gettn gas or the timing is off, meaning the spark isnt there at the right time...when you spray starting fluid will it run smooth?
