1999 Ranger 4x4 with a 3.0 feels like a mack truck

hi,

I recently bought a 1999 Ranger 4x4 with a 3.0, and I am so surprised on how this little truck feels like a tank, my buddy had one and said it was the same

I just changed the transmission filter and fluid.. hoping it would Improve.
feels like and sounds like a plane taking off....lol

any ideas

I have the two wheel drive, regular cab stepside. These trucks have a very stiff suspension. I would imagine the 4x4 would be a bit rougher.

A plane taking off ???
Is your clutch fan working properly, if it's failed they can get very noisy.
My B3000 has a very stiff suspension too, I really notice worn pavement.
