2.8 swap

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of removing my old 2.8 with a thrown rod and putting a new one in. After undoing the wiring and taking most of everything off the block I started on the exhaust. I ran into a problem with the headers, theres a steal or metal looking pipe running from each side and I was just wondering what this is because Im about to cut it off the reason being is the bolts are rusted and are imposable to loosen up and its in the way from letting them drop off. Im most likely getting the ones off the new motor but just in case I wana know what im cutting in case I have to use the old ones.

Most likely, without seeing pics, I'd have to say that is for the EGR. I don't know what year your truck is, but you may or may not be able to disable the EGR with no bad side effects.

Pics, and more info about the truck would be helpful.
