First post, looking for a point in the right direction! Replacing the heads and exhaust manifolds are a 87' i recently picked up in a trade, can someone give me a good lead to where I can go to buy heads and and mani's? the only luck Ive had is eBay but I'm wanting to know if there's some other sites i can buy parts at?

2.9l heads from '86 to '88 have a weak spot in the design/casting
'89 to '92 heads are a newer design without the weak spot, they often have 89TM on the casting.

3rd party heads are almost always the newer designs, and will say "for '89 to '92 2.9l"

The newer designed heads work fine on '86 to '88 blocks

The 2.9l was last made in 1992 so no real market anymore for mass production of replacement heads.
So you will need to look around, like on ebay, to find them.
Most sites I checked said "no longer available" or "discontinued"

 

that's what I figured, I've been looking all over, im to the point where im hoping my local junk yard will have them

 

Call local machine shops, they often have or can get heads

 

Wouldn't happen to know the part number for the fuel rail? I cant find it anywhere or anyone that sells them....
