I have a 2000 Ranger with 296K on the engine. I did the heads about 20K miles ago. compression is good but I am considering rebuilding the engine. If I do, I want to upgrade some things. I think I'd like to keep the lower end stock, perhaps a RV type cam upgrade. If I do roller rockers what else should be done and in what order ? I just want to get some reliable horsepower, not to extravagent. Maybe 30HP ??

I'm not replacing the engine with a bigger one. I'm using the engine that came in the truck. I think it's time for a rebuild and a making it a little peppy-er would be funner.

I'm comfortable spending an extra $1000 on the rebuild maybe a lil more. What would that get me ??
