I know this is a ranger forum and i've heard that these Mazdas are the same as the ford rangers so I wanted to try my luck here. Please remove post if it isn't allowed to ask about my Bseries. But for the past few weeks, most every time I press the clutch down, the car will rev up to anywhere between 3000rpm-4000rpms. While I drive, sometimes the car takes over and will drive itself for a little bit and then give me control of the throttle again. I've checked the throttle cable too and it seems to be fine and my throttle plate is very responsive and clean as well. I've replaced the IAC, TPS, PCV Valve and its corresponding elbow hose, and I've also cleaned my throttle body and I still have the same issue. Replacing the valve, sensors and hose it has fixed my idle issue as far as the car sitting at a stop because it would idle anywhere between 1,000rpm and 2,000rpm but that's fixed now. Just having issues with self driving and HIGH revving when i press the clutch in or the revving will continue if I drop into neutral coming to a stop for a few seconds, and then my rpms jump back down to normal. Does anyone have any idea what im missing? Im bringing it into the shop tomorrow to get diagnosed since I'm at a loss. I've been told by friends it could be my MAF Sensor or the O2 sensors, and my gf thinks the clutch is going out. But before i get into a more expensive part or difficult repair I wanna be sure that's it so I don't waste money. My b3000 has about 170,090 miles on it. Any advice is appreciated!
Yes it does have cruise control, but it doesn't work. My buttons are all busted out so yiur can touch and see the circuit board and pressing the existing buttons on the circuit board do notihing.
No it doesn't act this way parked or in neutral. However after the car hasn't ran for a few hours and I just first start it up, my rpms rev up to maybe 2-1/2-3000rpms and then drop to 500, jump back up, and then dtop to 500, and then will stabilize around 7-800rpms. It use to just sustain rev in park at 4000rmp but after replacing iac and tps that fixed my idle revving.
