2007 Ranger 3.0 Spark plug Gap
2007 Ranger 3.0 Spark plug Gap
If there is already a post on this matter please let me know...
I have a 2007 Ford Ranger Sport with a 3.0L Vulcan. Its time to change my spark plugs but i'm a little stumped. The owner's manual gives me a range of gaps from .52 to .56. the stick under the hood tells you to look in the manual. Where within this range should I gap my plugs? Does anybody have a particular brand they have had the most success with (Quality, Life Span, etc...)?
Thanks

See Ron's post.
Always use double platinum or iridium plugs, never copper.
I like NGK, one brand isn't really better or worse then the other.
Motorcraft are made by Autolite and those are what Ford uses.
I prefer NGK because they have a wire wound resister inside that always measures 5k ohms, the other ones never measure up that accurate.
Be carful when setting the gap on platinum or iridium plugs, they are fragile.
