2008 Ford Ranger 3.0

Hey,
Just purchased a 2008 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 motor. The truck has Motorcraft Platinum AGSF32FM plugs installed. Do you guys know if this Is the correct plugs for the motor? Verifying the previous owner didn’t change the OEM plugs…..thanks

Yes that would be the correct park splug for passenger sides 3 spark plugs

And would work fine in Drivers side just wear faster because it is single platinum, platinum on tip only

Ford actually used two different spark plugs in new 3.0ls after 1994, when they change to distributorless system
Platinum tips for passenger side and platinum centers on drivers side
When you are talking about buying spark plugs for literally THOUSANDS of engines single platinum are cheaper

Ford used waste spark, coil packs, this means 2 spark plugs fire at the same time, one spark plug fires center to tip(normal) other fires tip to center(reverse), so center wears out faster if not coated, is it a big deal.............no not at all

The AGSF32FM is the correct spark plug listed for your engine

Motorcraft SP-432 double platinum would be better to use

Thanks for the quick reply. Are you saying the SP-432 double platinum plugs can be used for both sides of the motor instead of two different plugs if you the 32FM plugs? Hope that’s not confusing 😁

Yes, double platinum will wear the same on either bank of the engine

Had a picture of 6 older spark plugs, left and right bank, single platinum, and you could see the centers were worn way down on left bank, right bank looked new
Can't find it, lol

Thanks for all the info…I was searching for the SP-432 plugs and the fitment for the 2008 Ranger keeps saying these plugs won’t work in a 2008 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just because it had Motorcraft plugs in it doesn't mean the previous owner didn't change plugs, I change mine every 50k and for the first two changes I ran Motorcraft plugs and wires.

When I switched to double platinum plugs for better plug wear, I had to switch to Autolite because the Motorcraft Double Platinums were tough to find, and I didn't want to risk counterfeit plugs from Amazon. Still running Motorcraft wires though.

Thanks to RonD's recommendation and the timely post as I needed to replace my plugs, I found the plugs SP-432 at Rockauto for $3.00 a piece. I should have them by Tuesday.
